Bonus days and event aviation at IWM Duxford

IWM Duxford

IWM Duxford

A series of major events held at Imperial War Museum (IWM) Duxford this year will excite the aviation community.

Each year the museum runs a series of fly in bonus days and event aviation days that allow general aviation pilots who fly in on those days to enjoy half-price landing fees and discounted admission to the museum.

The safety day and aircraft owners and pilots (AOPA) day, both held in the AirSpace exhibition, will allow visitors to converse with aviation experts, listen to presentations and discuss points of interest.

This year’s fly-in bonus days will be a Bulldog and Pup day, a LAA and RSA day, a Vans RV and Pilot Magazine day and a British Women Pilots’ Association (BWPA) Day.

The safety day, on April 13 and from 10.30am to 4.30pm, will have a number

of presentations and a landing fee of £7 with free IWM admission. Book your landing slot by calling 01233 833376.

The Bulldog and Pup bonus day is on May 11 for owners of Pup, Bulldog, Auster or Miles aircraft.

Landing is half price and museum entry discounted.

The Light Aircraft Association (LAA) and Federation Reseau du Sport de ‘Air (RSA) bonus day is on June 8, a special day for members of the LAA and French counterpart RSA.

Other bonus days are on July 20 (Vans RV and Pilot Magazine), August 17 (BWPA), and September 14 (AOPA).

Book your landing slot by calling 01233 833376.

Until March 15, IWM Duxford is open from 10am to 4pm daily, then until 6pm until October 26. Tickets cost £17.50 for adults, £14 for concessions, £12.25 for disabled people and students, and under 16s go free.
