Six years ago the choir at St Mary’s Church in Haverhill only had five members - now under the leadership of Richard Hart, the director of music the choir has an active membership of nearly 30 age ranging from ten years to 80 years.

The choir is now in the throes of a busy Easter programme, the highlight of which will be the presentation of The Crucifixion by John Stainer on Good Friday, April 18th at 6pm - admission is free.

Last Sunday the choir was involved in The Procession of Palms and will also be singing on Maundy Thursday (17) at 7.30pm and Easter Sunday (20) at 9.30am.

Other music planned is a ‘Come and Sing’ of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat on Wednesday, May 7 at 7.30pm.

This will be part of The Two Rivers Mission that is being held in the town that week – all singers are welcome.

New members are always welcome and the choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 7pm at the church.
