The call has gone out for businesses and groups from across west Suffolk to sign up for a fun-packed charity challenge which this year promises to be even bigger and better than ever.

West Suffolk Hospital Charity is looking for around 20 teams to take part in its flagship fund-raiser ‘It’s a Bury Knockout’, which takes place on Hardwick Heath on Sunday, July 13.

The teams of 10 to 12 people will tackle a series of exciting obstacles and games while raising vital charity funds at the same time.

Anyone who wants to sign up will need to raise a minimum of £500 sponsorship to take part, with a special prize going to the team which raises the most.

Dave Gooderham, fundraising manager for the hospital, said: “It’s a Bury Knockout has become a firm favourite on the town’s events calendar, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“It is great fun for groups of friends or businesses looking for a novel way of team building.

“We’ve already had interest from several teams keen on taking part, and would appeal for anyone else who wants to join in to get in touch as soon as possible and register their interest.”

As well as the main Knockout competition, a range of other entertainments will also take place during the day, including fundraising stalls, fairground rides, bouncy castles and a tombola.

The event has been organised by the hospital, in partnership with Bury St Edmunds Round Table and West Suffolk College.

To register your team’s interest in taking part, please email fundraising@wsh.nhs.uk.
