Tom Shaw spotted this photo in the Echo last week and contacted us to tell us what it was all about.
The photograph was taken outside the Clare Ancient House Museum after it had completed the Heritage Lottery Grant for refurbishment.
The museum was closed from 1997 to 1999 whilst work was undertaken on the Ancient House whereby half of the building was taken over by the museum, and the Landmark Trust took the other half for holiday accommodation lettings.
Clare Town Council retains the ownership of the whole house, but the Landmark Trust gained a separate Heritage Lottery grant for renovations and have the responsibility for maintaining the fabric of the whole building.
The five people pictured were Trustees of the museum and are, from left: Ken Groom, David Ridley the Curator, Jane Helliwell, Tom Shaw (secretary to the Trustees) and Rev John Rankin.
