Clare Primary School raised more than £250 for the Typhoon Haiyan Appeal.

The British Red Cross is encouraging people in local communities to support the people of the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

The children, staff and friends of Clare Primary rose to the occasion with a collection, cake bake and sale to raise £250.51.

The school presented their cheque to the Red Cross during assembly on Monday (December 2).

To date the Red Cross has raised over £12,000 for the Appeal in Suffolk and £6.4 million nationally.

Almost 6,000 people have been killed by Typhoon Haiyan.
