Following the Echo’s front page story last week (June 19) regarding a potential merger between GP surgeries in Haverhill, we have been asked to clarify that patients are being consulted over the proposals.
Talks are under way about merging the Stourview practice with Dr Selby and Partners’ Christmas Maltings surgery, NOT Dr Stephenson’s practice.
Stourview practice manager Rachel Mack said: “We are currently in talks with Dr Selby about merging the two surgeries with the possibility of running them from one site.
“Stourview is not closing.
“We would like to reassure patients that if they have any worries or concerns, they are quite welcome to call the surgery and we will do everything we can to help answer their questions. We appreciate that patients will have questions.”
She added: “If the merger does go ahead, it would happen at the end of the summer. The two surgeries merging would result in us having a new name.”
