A man has been arrested in connection with two incidents of criminal damage at St Edmundsbury Cathedral and a church in Bradfield St George at the weekend.
St Edmundsbury Cathedral was entered at around 3pm yesterday by a man who caused damage to a wooden gate, two silver candle holders and an embroidered silk table cloth.
St Georges Church in Church Road, Bradfield St George was entered in the afternoon of by a man who took items from within the church and piled them up. The man was disturbed by someone entering the church and left.
A 36 year old man from Norwich was arrested in Essex by Essex Police officers in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of criminal damage and is currently being held for questioning in the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
