Dental worker hurt in Haverhill

A female staff member was injured when a man tried to force his way into a dental practice in Haverhill.

The incident occurred at around 5.40pm on yesterday (26) at the premises in Wratting Road.

The staff member had gone out to the bins at the rear of the building, when she became aware of someone approaching from the car park behind.

The victim then went quickly back inside and as she attempted to close the door behind her, the offender tried to push it back open and force his way in.

After a brief struggle in which the staff member suffered cuts to the head when the door was pushed back against her, she succeeded in keeping the attacker out and managed to close and lock the door.

The offender is described as a white male who was wearing a hooded top. There are no further details at this time.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident should contact PC Jason Thomas at Haverhill police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
