This is the face of the suspect police are looking for in following a vicious assault on a teenage woman in Haverhill last week.

Police have issued this e-fit of the suspect after a woman was attacked by a man holding glass and squirting bleach in her mouth last Monday (January 7).

The 18 year old woman was walking along Leather Lane, Haverhill, at around 9.45am that day when a man approached her from behind.

He tugged her handbag and pulled her backwards against a fence.

While she was pushed against the fence the man wielded a shard of glass and pressed it against her neck and stomach, causing small scratch marks.

He also took a bottle from a bag and squirted a liquid, believed to be bleach, into her mouth.

The man was then disturbed by a noise behind him and the woman managed to escape and run home.

She was seen by her doctor but did not need any further medical attention.

The man is described as whited, aged 40 to 50, six ft tall and of slim build.

He had short dark curly hair and was clean shaven.

He wore a dark blue long sleeved hooded top, straight blue denim jeans and trainers and black fleece gloves, and carried a blue shopping bag.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
