Eggstatic toddlers wanted to waddle for charity

The Meningitis Trust is calling upon nurseries, pre-schools, toddler groups, and parents to register and organise their own Toddle Waddle for their under fives this March.

And, with Easter around the corner, is suggesting an Easter-inspired event.

Toddle Waddle is the Trust’s annual fundraising event, which is a sponsored walk or waddle in aid of the charity.

This year will be its 13th year and has raised £3 million to-date.

Every bit of sponsorship raised will make a huge difference to the charity’s work.

The charity relies on events, like Toddle Waddle, to raise the £8,000 needed every day to fund the growing demand on its services.

The waddlers’ walk can be as long or as short as their little legs can take them.

It can take place in the garden, a local park, nursery playground, or community hall and can take on any theme.

It can also be held at a day that suits, at any time of year, but the charity is encouraging organisers to hold one this March – why not combine it with an Easter egg hunt?

Matt Clarke, Toddle Waddle organiser at the Meningitis Trust, said: “Easter is the perfect time to hold a Toddle Waddle as it is a chance to spend quality time with friends and family and get outdoors.

“You could make a day of it and have egg decorating competitions, Easter card and bonnet designing – anything which will make sure waddlers have a quacking day.”

To request a Toddle Waddle Event Pack, including everything you need to hold a successful event, call 0845 1204530, email events@meningitis-trust.org or visit www.toddlewaddle.co.uk
