A dramatic fire broke out at the Rose & Crown pub in Withersfield Road, Haverhill late last Friday evening (July 25).
A total of six fire service appliances were called to the pub just after 9pm to find a fire had broken out in the roof space and set alight the creepers on the building (as the above photo shows).
Two appliances from Haverhill and a multistar from Cambridge initially responded and further crews were quickly requested, resulting in appliances from Clare and Linton plus a command unit and support pump from Ixworth being mobilised.
The crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to fight the fire, which was under control by 10.08pm. Fore more details buy this the Haverhill Echo this Thursday (July 31).
