First Students ‘graduate’ from Haverhill charity group’s courses
Certificate presentations to Befriending Scheme volunteers & members for their completion of a How to be a Volunteer, Works4U and First Aid courses from Shirley Moore, chief executive of The Befriending Scheme and a team leader from Realise Futures.
The first batch of ‘graduates’ to pass self-improvement courses run by a Suffolk charity collected their certificates last Friday (March 15).
The students are all members or volunteers at the hub run in Haverhill each week by The Befriending Scheme.
They collected their certificates at the charity’s Friday hub at the Chalkstone Centre in Strasbourg Square.
The students passed one or more of three courses, all held alongside the regular hub meetings over a three to six week period:
They completed Works4U, organised by the Befriending Scheme for the first time and led by trainer Jo Travis-Shelton, First Aid and How to be a Volunteer, which were both organised by Realise Futures.
