Fostering agency opens in Great Wratting

Little Acorns Fostering, is now open and ready for the challenge of placing children in care into family based foster homes.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held, courtesy of the Mayor of Haverhill, on an open day on March 2.

Little Acorns, in Great Wratting, is now fully focused on recruiting foster parents across East Anglia and neighbouring areas.

Co-owner Cheryl Jillions is highly qualified in social care and has been involved in the industry for 27 years.

She said: “I’m really excited about this new agency as we try to tackle the shortage of foster homes for vulnerable children in the region.

“Our whole ethos is about supporting and training our carers, ensuring that we are there for them night and day to assist with this sometimes challenging but very rewarding task. “

A first in the industry, Little Acorns will be part owned by the carers themselves, as they adopt a John Lewis model of working and create a business that is inclusive for everyone as shareholders.
