Women who walked miles around Bury St Edmunds while wearing their pyjamas have raised more than £115,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The hospice announced the total raised this week - £115,037 – and thanked everyone who had taken part or supported the event, which took place in September.
Jenny Baskett, Hospice Events and Challenges Fundraiser, said: “Girls Night Out 2013 was a fantastic event. More women than ever before took part – 1,020 – and between them they raised a staggering amount.
“I would like to thank each and every one of them, as well as everyone behind the scenes, for what they did.”
Girls Night Out is a fundraising walk with a difference: participants are asked to wear their favourite pyjamas and flashing bunny ears to cover either 11.2 or six miles around Bury St Edmunds, at night.
“The whole evening has a real party atmosphere, which means that many women take part year after year,” added Jenny. “For that reason we would like to announce the date of the 2014 walk so people can mark it in their diaries.
“We hope to see as many women as possible on Saturday, September 13 for our sixth Girls Night Out.”
Registration for Girls Night Out 2014 will open in the spring. For more information, go to www.stnicholashospicecare.org.uk or visit the St Nicholas Hospice Care Girls Night Out
