Give the gift of time this Christmas

British Heart Foundation shops in East Anglia appeal for extra helping hands

The festive period is the busiest time of the year for British Heart Foundation (BHF) shops and this year the nation’s heart charity is appealing for volunteers in East Anglia to lend a hand to make a real difference this Christmas.

Volunteers are essential to the success of BHF shops and play a vital part in the fight against heart disease. Each BHF Shop in East Anglia needs 40 extra hours help per week over the Christmas period, so any time that local people can spare will be greatly appreciated.

The BHF has over 700 clothing shops and Furniture & Electrical stores, so there is a lot to do! Our East Anglia shops have roles available to suit everyone.

From merchandising our large range of Christmas gifts to selling Christmas cards; window dressing and helping with the Christmas raffle, our clothing shops are keen to hear from people who have a few hours to spare.

If you’d prefer a more ‘hands on’ role this Christmas BHF Furniture and Electrical stores could be the place for you.

These specialist stores are keen to recruit warehouse assistants, electrical function testers, stock generators, telephone operators and sales assistants.

Debbie Dixon, Regional Manager for BHF East Anglia shops, says: “The contribution our volunteers make is extraordinary – we simply couldn’t run our shops without their support.

“There are so many great opportunities available in our shops this Christmas – I’d really like to encourage people in East Anglia to make a huge difference by giving the gift of time.

“Whether you can spare a couple of hours or a couple of days a week we’d love to hear from you.

“Your support is vital to us.”
