Have your say in time for Ipswich Building Society’s AGM

Members of Ipswich Building Society across the East of England only have a short time left to register their vote and have their say on society matters, ahead of its annual general meeting On March 20.

The Society has announced a strong set of results which include;

Mortgage lending of £65m in 2012. Total mortgage balances grew by 16.4per cent to £465m.

Record savings balances of £532m (a growth of 46 per cent since 2008).

The Society continued to be 98 per cent funded by retail savings.

Profit after tax and payment of the FSCS levy grew to £2m.

Paul Winter, chief executive said; “As a mutual organisation, we take our responsibility to our members seriously, and our strong results are due to the confidence and trust our members have shown in us.

“We would like to remind all of them that their vote is important, and we welcome any questions they may like to ask us.”

The society has issued voting packs to all members, and there are a number of ways to register your vote including via telephone, internet, in branch, by post or in person.

For those wishing to register their vote within their local branch, all voting forms must be received by 12 noon on Saturday, March 16.

An extended deadline of Monday, March 18 is available for postal votes (closing at 5pm) with internet and telephone votes closing at 7pm.

Members will also have the opportunity to register their vote in person and submit questions to the Board at the AGM, which takes place at Wherstead Park on Wednesday 20th March. Refreshments are from 6pm, and the AGM begins at 7pm.
