Havebury unveil new homes and office in Haverhill
Havebury Housing tenants picked up the keys to their new homes in Haverhill last week, as works on a £1.2m development on the High Street comes to completion.
The new development has five one-bedroom flats, two two-bedroom flats and a new office for Havebury.
Priority for the flats was given to existing Havebury tenants who were looking to move to a smaller home.
As a result of the Government’s Welfare Reform, from April ‘under-occupying’ tenants will have to pay between £11 and £20 a week for bedrooms in their property deemed to be in excess of their needs.
The seven new flats feature modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, open plan living and several have a private balcony.
Havebury chief executive, Karen Mayhew, said: “Delivering new, high quality affordable housing for our tenants is one of our top priorities.
“In addition, our new office in the centre of Haverhill will offer a more convenient service to our Haverhill tenants who will be able to access local services and advice on rents, repairs, supported housing and neighbourhood enquiries.”
Havebury’s Manor Road office closes at 5pm on Wednesday, April 3 and the new office opens at 9am on Monday, April 8.
Any tenants needing assistance between these times can call 0300 3300900 or visit Havebury’s office in Bury St Edmunds.
