Around 200 Air Cadets and staff from the local area will be parading through Haverhill Town Centre on Sunday, February 2 to celebrate the formation of the Air Training Corps (ATC) by King George VI in 1941.

Each year Air Cadets across the UK take part in local parades. This year, 1451 (Haverhill) Squadron will be hosting the ‘ATC Sunday’ Parade.

Commanding Officer, Pilot Officer Chris Goddard, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the Cadets to show the local community they are proud of their heritage and that the ATC is stronger than ever.”

The parade commences at 12:30pm and will march from the car park behind Haverhill Arts Centre to St Mary’s Church for a short service commencing at 1pm. In attendance will be Cllr Roger André, Mayor of Haverhill as well as Reviewing Officer, Air Commodore J A F Ford RAF (Ret’d).
