Haverhill and Hadstock Silver Bands to play in charity concert

Haverhill and Hadstock Silver Bands will both be taking part in a one night only ‘Festival of Brass’ charity concert in Cambridge on February 17.

The event at the West Road Concert Hall aims to raise over £5,000 for Cancer Research UK.

It will include the world’s top euphonium player, David Childs, and internationally famous all female trombone quartet Bone Apart, top class brass quintet TUBE, and entertainment prize-winning Haverhill Silver Band and Hadstock Silver Band will also both be performing.

All the musicians are giving their time for free.

To help encourage the next generation of brass players to the festival it includes a free workshop for beginner to intermediate level brass players of any age.

A number of the bands’ members and their close relatives have suffered from cancer and one long-serving player died at the end of last summer, hence their extra motivation for performing.

So that all of the ticket money can go to CRUK tickets are on sale at the Arts Theatre Box Office at £12 (adults), £9 (students and OAPs), £6 (16 and under) which includes the brass workshop.
