Haverhill drug and alcohol help centre to open
A new treatment centre for people struggling with drug and alcohol addictions is to open in Haverhill on Friday.
Open Road, a leading East Anglian charity with over 22 years’ experience in the field, will operate the service from a dedicated new centre in Strasbourg Square.
Previously operating from doctors’ surgeries, Open Road will now have its own, dedicated space and better facilities to support individuals with a wide range of needs.
Matthew Hancock, MP will be guest of honour and will officially open the centre.
Councillor Anne Gower will also attend.
Open Road’s approach is to support people on their journey to recovery – this means getting them well and addiction-free, but also helping them get back into normal life as useful members of their community and wider society.
Open Road Haverhill will offer a wide range of services including an eight week treatment programme and 1-2-1 counselling. Open Road is also keen for local organisations to use the centre when it is available.
Sarah Wright, Open Road’s CEO said: “Our clients will receive a really ‘joined up’ service.”
