Top UK internet lingerie retailer, figleaves.com, announced it would be coming to Haverhill.
The firm, which includes among its range of wares brands such at Love Kylie, Gossard, DKNY and Calvin Klein, decided to relocate from north London to the warehouse in Falconer Road. Initially the move was expected to create 40 jobs, hopefully rising up to 60.
There were angry scenes outside the Powerhouse store in Haverhill as customers queued up to demand goods bought before the company went into liquidation.
It had been announced two days earlir that the company had appointed Deloitte and Touche LLP as receivers and that it would be open to customers for a short period.
CAB REACH OUT
Lottery cash enabled Haverhill Citizen’s Advice Bureau to carry out outreach work at the Stour View Medical Centre in the town.
The grant allowed one CAB advisor to be at the surgery one morning per week.
