A vision of Haverhill in 2025 that had a river, a lake, a covered market and a college campus was revealed in master plan being worked on by councillors.
The plan was prepared in secret and was due to be made public in September, but the Echo caught a glimpse of what was in it.
The master plan was drawn up by the Haverhill Area Working Party along with other organisations and local businesses.
GATEWAY SCULPTURE DELAYED
Plans to unveil a sculpture heralding the ‘gateway’ to Haverhill had to be put back a month because its foundations were not strong enough.
The Haverhill Gateway Sculpture - a 30ft high construction of swirling steel mesh - was due to be opened in September but had to be put back until October following an issue with some of its concrete foundations.
EARLY SEASON SUCCESS
Haverhill Rovers got their new Ridgeons League First Division season off to a great start with a 3-1 home win over Swaffham Town followed by a 2-1 win at Hadleigh United.
