The latest in the series of free community fun days laid on in Haverhill during the school holidays saw more than 800 people enjoy the Chalkstone Fun Day.
One week earlier the Recreation Ground hosted the Big Day Out, but last Wednesday (6) it was the turn of the New Croft, in Chalkstone Way, to join the party.
Haverhill Town Council gives out wristbands to record how many children turn up at each of the community fun days and this one saw 827 bands given out, with more joining in who didn’t have a band.
Parents and their children shared picnics and took advantage of the attractions and entertainment provided for nothing.
Among the things on offer were a bungee trampoline, a juggler and entertainer who invited children to have a go themselves, a climbing wall, children’s races, including sack racing, a fire engine and police car and lots of various refreshment stands.
The next event in the community fun days programme will be the Parkway Fun Day at Haverhill Rugby Club in School Lane between 11am and 3pm on Wednesday, August 20.
