Abbeycroft Leisure has joined forces with local business Perform Sports Therapy to offer members and staff at Haverhill Leisure Centre a 20 per cent discount on sports therapy treatments including injury assessment, sports massage, electrotherapy and rehabilitative exercises.
The initiative is one of the many ways in which Abbeycroft is working with local businesses to add value to their members and to promote well being and fitness in the community.
The partnership between Abbeycroft Leisure and Perform Sports Therapy will make it more affordable for members to access treatments for any injuries, aches and pains or for relaxation purposes.
Fully qualified sports therapist Katie Ditchman set up Perform Sports Therapy in 2011 to offer sports therapy and remedial sports massage treatments to sports clubs and associations as well as private individuals.
Hayley Woods was the first Haverhill Leisure Centre member to take advantage of the offer.
Hayley explains: “I am in training for the Cambridge Half Marathon next year and have been suffering from a calf injury from running.
“When I saw the 20 per cent discount from Perform Sports Therapy it gave me the incentive to get myself sorted out. “The treatment I received during the session was excellent and I was also given exercises to do at home.”
For further information on the treatments available, the offer or to book an appointment call Katie Ditchman on 07951 780683 or visit www.performsportstherapy.co.uk.
Sports therapy treatments can be used to help prevent injury and promote recovery after exercise as well as treating existing injuries and rehabilitation.
James Purkiss, Haverhill Leisure Centre Manager comments, “We are always looking for opportunities to enhance our membership packages so that they offer real value for money to our members.
“We have members who are training for competitions, like Hayley, who are very keen to avoid injury.
“For a lot of people who come to the gym regularly or attend classes nagging aches and pains can prevent them from doing something that they really enjoy.
“You don’t have to be an elite athlete or competing in an event to benefit from sports massage treatments.
“The partnership with Perform Sports Therapy is also a great way for us to support an independent local business.
We are always keen to work with local suppliers where possible.”
If you require any further information on the treatments available, the offer or to book an appointment please call Katie Ditchman on 07951 780683 or visit www.performsportstherapy.co.uk.
