Haverhill MP Matthew Hancock will hold a jobs fair in the town to help those who are looking for employment or advice on skills like CV writing and interview techniques.

The jobs fair brings together local businesses and the public sector to offer many opportunities for those seeking work.

There are already more than 20 organisations signed up including Sainsbury’s, International Flavours and Fragrances (IFF), Job Centre Plus, Delstar Engineering and Phoenix Internet Consultancy.

It is backed by Supporting Young Haverhill, which Mr Hancock launched, and will take place at the New Croft on November 23 from 10am to 2pm.

There will be opportunities to apply for current and future vacancies, as well as attend workshops.

Attendance is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Mr Hancock said: “It is great to be able to bring my role as MP for West Suffolk together with my work as minister for skills to help address unemployment in Haverhill.

“Whilst we are lucky in West Suffolk to have lower levels of unemployment than much of the rest of the country, there is no room for complacency and this jobs fair is part of my efforts to help those in Haverhill looking for work.”
