Coupals Primary School’s deputy head teacher David Maguire was arrested when the school’s Rabbit Class visited Haverhill Police Station.

The fake arrest was all part of the youngsters’ visit to the station last Wednesday (March 12), during which they also had mug shots taken - with their names put on - had their fingerprints taken, tried on some police jackets and hats and got shown the cells.

PCSO Lorna Chapman and PCSO Mark Isaac also escorted the children from their school to the station and back.

The visit was arranged as part of the class’ study of jobs that help members of society.

Rabbit class teacher, Fiona Barnard, said: “They really did lay on a lot for us, which was really nice.

“It was fantastic, it really was.”
