Haverhill residents can look forward to an extended Summer Bash, with the event set to run over a whole weekend.
The Summer Bash, which gets under way on July 19 at 10am will be held at the New Croft. Visitors can get involved with sports activities, children’s activities, a baby show and fairground rides, as well as live music at 6.30pm.
The fun continues on Sunday July 20 with the regular family fun day on the Recreation Ground. There will be fun fair rides, flower and cake shows and other events from 10am to 4pm.
Extra funding for the event was made available through locality funding from St Edmondsbury Borough Council.
Each councillor is given £2,000 to spend to help kick start projects and events in their ward. Councillor Gordon Cox chose to allocate £400 of his budget to the Summer Bash.
Cllr Cox said: “The Haverhill Summer Bash is looking to become a good annual community event enjoyed by families not just from the town, but also from some of the surrounding villages.
“This is the first year that the bash has been extended to cover the whole weekend.”
