Pc Will Wright has been appointed to the role of Haverhill domestic abuse and vulnerable victims’ officer, and to coincide with this role the victim care centre is being opened at the Murton Slade station.

This care centre will be officially opened by Suffolk’s police and crime commissioner Tim Passmore and assistant chief constable Gareth Wilson on Monday (March 17).

Suffolk Constabulary recently joined forces with partner agencies including the county council and district and borough councils to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

There was a national focus on the crime last week with advice designed to be given to victims or possible victims encouraging them to find help, with the message ‘You do not have to live in fear’.
