Haverhill Town Council is advertising for a temporary town clerk and responsible financial officer to cover to void left by Will Austin’s imminent departure.
Mr Austin, who took over the role from Gordon Mussett has tendered his resignation and will leave on March 14.
The council wants there to be an overlap prior to then, with the locum clerk/financial officer to carry out the formal role pending a permanent replacement.
With cover for the wider managerial role being provided from the current council, the clerk is expected to be a part-time three days a week role.
The council describes it as a possible secondment or development opportunity for a CiLCA qualified person with LC4 the substantive grade for the permanent position.
The salary is negotiable.

Mr Austin announced a month ago that he was resigning for ‘personal reasons’.
“I would like to place on record my sincerest thanks to council staff and town councillors, who have made this such an enjoyable and satisfying role for me,” he said.
“Particular thanks go to the town mayor Roger André and Cllr Maureen Byrne, deputy mayor and chair of the council’s personnel committee, who have been hugely supportive during my time in Haverhill.
“It is with great regret that I am leaving having developed a very strong affinity with a town that I am proud to have called home.”
