Haverhill walk postponed
A five-mile family walk in Haverhill in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care has been postponed due to slow take-up, as a result of the recent cold weather.
The ‘HaverHeart for the Hospice’ walk was due to take place on Sunday,February 17, however organisers have decided it would be better to hold the event in the warmer months, when the weather is less unpredictable.
Georgina Carr, Community Fundraising Manager, said: “We think the recent snow and cold weather has put people off from signing up for the walk. With further uncertainty about the forecast over the next 10 days we have decided to postpone the walk until later in the year.
“It would have been a lovely family event so we do still want to do it – but probably when the weather is a bit warmer.”
The Hospice is asking people to still ‘HaverHeart for the Hospice’ this Valentine’s day by picking up a free heart-shaped cookie cutter and making cookies for the loved ones, friends and family.
To get your free cookie cutter, just pop into Abbeycroft Leisure Centre, in Ehringhausen Way, Haverhill, and ask at reception.
