A group of 60 energetic individuals took part in a two hour non-stop Zumba session at Haverhill Leisure Centre, raising £325 for charity in the process.
Teachers Claire Brown and Leslie Moore ran the session and later presented a cheque for £325 to Tim Marks, Mayor of St Edmundsbury.
The money will be divided between his chosen mayoral charities, St Nicholas Hospice Care and REACH (Foodbank) in Haverhill.
Cllr Marks said “I am immensely grateful to Abbeycroft Leisure for organising the event and to all of those who supported it – this is really a wonderful example of community support.”
Mandy Felton, from Abbeycroft Leisure, said she was absolutely delighted with the turn-out and the amount raised.
Her sentiments were echoed by the two dance teachers, Claire and Leslie, who said: “It was a brilliant event enjoyed by everyone.”
