West Suffolk College Leap Centres in Haverhill and Sudbury have risen to the challenge of helping users get to grips with new computer Tablets.
Following a number of requests for help, specially designed workshops will be held in January, to help new Tablet users get the most from their gadgets.
The workshops take place in Cornard Road, Sudbury on Saturday, January 18 and MENTA Business Centre in Hollands Road, Haverhill on Saturday, January 25 from 10am to 3.30pm at each venue.
The course costs £24, with concessions available.
Tutor Len Cooper said: “The course may be low on ‘tech talk’ but it is high on content.
“Don’t be fooled by the gentle pace of this five hour workshop; we are offering students a chance to really get to grips with their new tablet.
“Students will unravel features that they may not even have known about, which should enable them to get more from their device.”
While the course is primarily aimed at anyone owning a tablet running the Android 4.0 operating system (such as the Tesco Hudl, Samsung, Lenovo, Google Nexus and Sony Xperia) it will benefit new iPad users too, as the course will cover features common to both systems.
Topics will include setting up the Tablet, using the Tablet to surf the net or to send and receive emails, social networking and Skype, downloading books and music and much more.
Anyone who might be getting a Tablet from Santa this Christmas can book a place on the workshop to make sure they will be getting the most from it. If you are giving someone a Tablet as a present, you could also buy them a gift voucher for the workshop.
