Haverhill police chief Ins Peter Ferrie has warned residents to ensure their properties are properly secured after a burglar struck in Recreation Road.
The side gate to the house was left open and a window jemmied to gain entry some time between October 30/31 and Sunday, November 3.
Once inside the perpetrator stole an Aspire Notebook, an iPad, DS Blue, DS Black, an Arsenal money box containing £50 and £100 worth of jewellery.
Inps Ferrie said the items were all taken away in a pillow case, a way of operating that was very specific and one not usually seen.
He went on to say: “We are doing more patrols in the area of the Recreation ground. Previously that was quite a hot spot for break-ins, not just houses but sheds as well.
“Make sure that doors and windows are all properly locked. Lock your side gates if you are going away and leave your lights on if you are going out after dark.”
