A1307 fatality
The A1307 in Linton was closed for more than five hours after a collision which claimed the life of a Cambridge woman.
The motorist died when her silver Volkswagon Golf collided head-on with a Mercedes tipper truck close to the BP garage on the edge of Linton.
It was the second fatality on the road in the space of just two weeks.
MAGISTRATES CALL
Haverhill MP Richard Spring called on the powers-that-be to consider re-opening the magistrates court in the town.
Mr Spring wrote to the chairman of Suffolk Magistrates Courts Committee to urge them to consider reopening the courts in both Haverhill and Newmarket.
He believed the courts needed to be open to better manage with the increase in court hearings that would result from the growing populations of Haverhill and the village of Red Lodge.
SHOP OPENS
The long-awaited Clements community shop was opened in Haverhill by The Salvation Army.
The shop sold a wide range of second-hand products. A second shop, housing the community resource entre, was also likely to open.
