Talented year 11 mathematicians from Samuel Ward Academy and Newmarket College gathered to boost their GCSE prospects at two recent revision days.
Each day consisted of focussed Grade A/A* workshops in the morning and a team quiz in the afternoon.
The event was sponsored by Haverhill Research Park and is a key part of a coordinated programme across the Samuel Ward Multi Academy Trust to support and challenge able mathematicians.
Chris Dale vice principal at SWA said: “It was fantastic to see over 80 pupils from both schools working incredibly hard over the two days, really appreciating how important a high GCSE grade in mathematics is and the doors that this can open.
“Choosing the three winners was very difficult but this is a reflection on their effort and results over the two days and the outstanding progress they have made in their mock results since Christmas.
“I would also like to personally thank Haverhill Research Park for their support, without which this event would not have been possible.
“We sincerely hope that we can continue to work in a close reciprocal partnership.”
