A group of nine members from the Ipswich Town Supporters Club Haverhill Branch had a successful day fund-raising at the Summer Bash in Haverhill last Sunday (July 20).
The five adults and four younger members ran two efforts to raise money for the branch to keep its coach going for all home games.
First, two of the younger members took it in turns two at a time to run a tombola stall with over 80 prizes and finished the day with only four prizes.
In the meantime the adults and two younger ones wheeled a barrow full of groceries around the ground to raffle – winner takes all.
The winner, drawn by the Mayor of Haverhill, Cllr Roger André, was Michael Richards of Chapel Farm Cottages in Little Wratting.
Iain Ross, branch secretary, said: “A great deal of effort went into this by all concerned – spending eight hours in the sun and being kept going by tea, coffee, cold drinks, ice lorries etc.
“A great effort by all concerned, raising enough to fund the shortfall on trips to the games by at least five trips.
“Thanks to all those who supported us.”
