Anglicans and Catholics in Clare will hold a joint service on Good Friday to commemorate the Passion next Friday (April 18).
The service will be held in Clare Priory’s newly extended church, starting at 2 pm.
Father David Middleton OSA, the Prior of Clare, said: “We shall be repaying the generous hospitality received from the Revd Stuart Mitchell and his parishioners of St Peter and Paul’s, Clare, over the last 18 months.
“The building programme for our church extension was overrunning and the temporary chapel inside the Priory was not big enough for our parishioners and visitors attending.
“It was a very tight squeeze even on normal Sundays.
“Our neighbours very kindly invited us to share their church and we are truly grateful.
“We have celebrated the last two Good Fridays together, and we are pleased to be able to do so this year in our new church extension.”
