As part of the recent World Book Night, Kedington Sea Scouts collected copies of The Recruit by Robert Muchamore from Kedington Library.

The book was chosen by library manager, Teresa Bailey, because it is first in a series of 12.

She said: “It is packed with action and adventure and therefore, the ideal choice for Scouts.

“I think they will all get hooked and want to read the other titles. It is a thrill to give a book as a gift, knowing that it is something that can be passed on to others again and again.”

World Book night is an annual celebration of reading and books which takes place each year on April 23.

It is run by The Reading Agency and sees passionate volunteers give hundreds of thousands of books away in their communities to share their love of reading.

It is about giving books and encouraging those who have lost the love of reading – or are yet to gain it – to pick up a book and read.
