Kedington student Jordan Christie has won through to the finals of a national competition – with the opportunity to pitch to ‘dragon’ Peter Jones.
Young entrepreneur Jordan will be pitching his business – a luxury leather goods company – to the high profile businessman Peter Jones who features on the TV programme Dragon’s Den.
Jordan is studying business enterprise at Cambridge Regional College and will have just five minutes to sell himself and his company, Opulent Leather, in the final of contest called National Entrepreneur of the Year 2014.
It will be held in Marlow in Oxfordshire, and Jordan will face questions from the panel and has been asked to produce a video diary of his journey to the final.
The 19-year-old of West End Lane, Kedington, says that if he wins he would use the £5,000 prize money to develop his enterprise.
He said: “It will be an amazing experience, and it will be great to pitch my brand and get it in front of one of Britain’s most successful entrepreneurs.
“I’m very excited to be given this opportunity.”
His business sells Italian leather tablet and mobile phone cases as well as wallets and notebooks.
He has built up his business on social media online with 6,000 followers on Twitter and hundreds of Facebook supporters.
