A multi academy trust has been formed as Linton Village College (LVC) aims to help Meadow Primary School in Balsham continue it’s revival.

The governing bodies of LVC and Meadow Primary have combined to launch the Chilford Hundred Education Trust today (Tuesday, April 1).

The multi academy trust includes both schools.

LVC became an academy in February 2011 after getting an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted.

In contrast Ofsted placed Meadow School in special measures in July for ‘failing to provide an acceptable standard of education’, but was removed from special measures after entering into the academy trust.

Schools cannot become academies unless they get an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, but schools can form partnerships with an existing academy to gain the status – such as Place Farm Primary in Haverhill becoming one as part of the Castle Partnership Trust with Castle Manor Academy.
