Children and staff at a Linton nursery are celebrating being given top marks by Ofsted.
The regulatory body awarded Julie and Jo’s Childcare the highest ranking of ‘Outstanding’.
Furthermore the nursery achieved this in every area, making it one of the best childminders in the county.
The inspection report noted that the achievements of the children, their well-being, safety as well as the leadership and management of the childcare provision, were all outstanding.
Inspector Jo Rowley said: “Children’s learning and development and the progress they make is fantastic.”
There was also high praise for staff: “The childminder and her assistants provide a truly warm and welcoming environment where each and every child is uniquely supported, according to their individual needs.”
As a result, she said: “Children’s learning and development is exceptionally well encouraged and they are making rapid progress where speech and language development is exceptional.”
Manager Julie Dixon said: “We are delighted and honoured to receive the grading as we are one of only a minority of childminders who have achieved an outstanding verdict in all areas.
“Although we have worked exceptionally hard to achieve this I consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to do a job that I enjoy as well as having a positive impact on children’s future development.”
Julie and Jo’s has been running in Linton for over a decade.
Julie and her sister Jo provide childcare from 7.30am until 6pm throughout the week and Julie’s husband Tony, a fully qualified PE teacher, runs multi-skills sessions during the day for pre-school children and after-school sports clubs for primary school children.
In addition to the sports sessions, the childminders also offers a breakfast club.
