Linton Village College students return to see sausages made

The 2nd annual Dalehead Foods Enterprise Challenge in association with Waitrose will take place at LVC on Tuesday 27 November as part of the continuing Business in the Community partnership with Linton-based company Dalehead Foods. All 170 Year 9 students have taken part in this year's 'sausage of the month challenge to design a new pork sausage product for Waitrose supermarkets.

Students from Linton Village College (LVC) returned to see the sausages they designed being professionally produced.

The year nines went to Dalehead Foods last Thursday (7) to see the winning seasonal sausage – which contained garlic, pepper, rosemary, thyme, leek, parsnip, carrot and the‘secret ingredient’, water chestnuts, in addition to pork – being made.

The winning team received Waitrose cookbooks andDalehead Foods aprons and T-shirts, and the sausage may still be sold in Waitrose supermarkets.
