A total of 28 people have been arrested as part of a week of enforcement action against those suspected of dealing heroin and crack cocaine in Ipswich.

Warrants were carried at addresses in Ipswich and London as part of a major operation, started last autumn, targeting London-based dealer networks bringing drugs into the town.

Suffolk response officers joined their colleagues from the county Territorial Support Teams, dog unit, ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) team, Scorpion team officers and the Suffolk & Norfolk Serious & Organised Crime Unit to execute the warrants, with all of those arrested being taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
