A man who was arrested following an allegation of sexual assault in Haverhill has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The attack happened in Haverhill when a 19 year old woman had been walking along Crowland Road between 3am and 4am on Sunday, August 31.
The woman had been returning home after a night out in the town centre with friends when she was approached by a man who assaulted her.
Police arrested a 31 year old man from Haverhill on suspicion of rape. He was taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He has since been released on police bail and will be required to return on October 31.
