Man dies in crash in Haverhill industrial estate

A young man has died following a single vehicle road traffic collision on Homefield Road in Haverhill.

Police were contacted by the ambulance service around 11.45am yesterday (Sunday, December 15) morning to reports a car had collided with a tree near the Moon Hall Lane junction.

The Suffolk Accident and Rescue Service (SARS), police officers, the East Anglian Ambulance Trust and the fire service attended and found a young man inside the vehicle.

Efforts were made to resuscitate him but he was pronounced deceased at the scene at 12.20pm.

The road has been closed while an initial investigation gets underway.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area around this time to come forward if you saw the vehicle prior to the collision or the crash itself.

Anyone who can help is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police by dialling 101.

The previous Sunday (December 8) Lee Westrope, 42, from Beaumont Vale, died after a collision between his motorbike and a four wheel drive pulling a horse box on the Haverhill bypass close to the turn for Hanchett Hall.
