Man due in Cambridge court in connection with murder

A third man is due in court this morning charged in connection with the murder of Llywelyn Thomas.

John Smith, 66, of Wold Gate, Bridlington, North Humberside, was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) and has been charged with assisting an offender.

He is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday).

Mr Thomas, 76, was discovered in his home in Ely Road, Cambridge, on the morning of Sunday, December 18, 2011. He had last been seen alive the previous evening.

Frankie Parker, 25, of Nene Road, Ely, and Gary Smith, 20, of no fixed address, have both been charged with his murder. They are next due to appear in court on April 2.
