A man remains in hospital following a stabbing in Ipswich during the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police were called at approximately 1.25am by a member of the public stating there had been an altercation in Beatty Road, Ipswich and a man had been injured.

Police and ambulance attended the scene and a 21-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his shoulder.

The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 23-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The cordon that had been put in place in Beatty Road was taken down at around 4:30pm.
