Man involved in A14 crash in Sproughton named

A man who died in a crash on the A14 on Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24) has was yesterday (Thursday, December 27) named as Thomas Allen, a 23-year-old of Soham in Cambridgeshire.

Officers were called to the scene at around 10.20pm following a report that approximately five to six horses were loose on the A14 at Sproughton and four vehicles had been involved in a collision with the horses.

Mr Allen was taken to Ipswich Hospital with life threatening injuries and sadly died on Christmas Day (Tuesday, December 25).

A 26-year-old Ipswich man arrested on suspicion of causing danger to road users, has been bailed pending further enquiries and will return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on February 28.

Witnesses to this incident are asked to call Pc Ali Cotton at the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.
