Man trapped under fallen lorry cab in Haverhill

A man in his 40s was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after being freed from a lorry cab that had fallen on him.

The accident happened in Sturmer Road at about 4.30pm on Tuesday (May 20). A fire appliance and rescue pump from Haverhill used hydraulic gear and airbags to release him by 5.26pm.

A response car, ambulance, paramedic officer and hazardous area response team also attended. He was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with a leg injury. His injuries were not life threatening.
