A group of young men are being sought by police after a violent attack on a man in a Haverhill street.

The incident occurred between 1.30am and 1.40am yesterday, Sunday, June 22, close to Vange Place, along the footpath running from the KFC restaurant in Ehringshausen Way.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, was walking along the path when he was assaulted by a group of three to four people, who pushed him to the floor where he was then kicked and punched.

The victim sustained a swollen cheek and other facial bruising, along with grazes to his hands as a result of this attack.

The offenders are described as a group of three to four white males, aged between 16 and 20 years-old. It is believed one of them was wearing a grey hooded top.
